Thursday Thirteen (16th)

13 Absence Notes and Letters collected from schools.

1. My son is under a doctor's care and should not take P.E. today. Please execute him.

2. Please excuse Lisa for being absent. She was sick and I had her shot.

3. Dear School: Please ekscuse John being absent on Jan. 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and also 33.

4. Please excuse Roland from P.E. for a few days. Yesterday he fell out of a tree and misplaced his hip.

5. John has been absent because he had two teeth taken out of his face.

6. Carlos was absent yesterday because he was playing football. He was hurt in the growing part.

7. Megan could not come to school today because she has been bothered by very close veins.

8. Please excuse Jason for being absent yesterday. He had a cold and could not breed well.

9. Please excuse Ray Friday from school. He has very loose vowels.

10. Please excuse Pedro from being absent yesterday. He had diahre dyrea direathe the shits.

11. Please excuse Jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday, we thought it was Sunday.

12. Please excuse Mary for being absent yesterday. She was in bed with gramps.

13. Sally won't be in school a week from Friday. We have to attend her funeral.

Ah, great visit outlining the power of words - or poorly written phrases.

Oh, that's a scream. Don't you know sometimes teachers just laugh until they cry over some of these excuses?

Happy TT!

It does amaze me at some of the excused we get also. I really like the ones the kids write and "someone" signs.

Our middle school kids come up with some very original excuses.

Happy TT

Very funny list! Looks like some of the parents may have missed a few too many days of school also. I better use spell check on the notes I write for my son. Don't want to end up on your list some day:)

Hee. Lots of parents pretty darn stressed out by their kids staying home--executing, shooting, planning funerals...

Funny! One would be tempted to say the kids wrote these, but we all know there are clueless parents, too.

Hilarious list, thanks for sharing!

I think we should at least be grateful that the parents are sending their children to school (sometimes) - if we had to rely on them to teach writing skills, the world would be in trouble.

I double checked my spelling and word order! Now watch there be a mistake. *blush*
